Evil!
There are just so many ways for innocent people to get scammed once they connect to the Internet.
The evil can come when you least suspect it. Maybe in an email though thought came from a friend, but was really a spoofed email. Spoofed emails are used a lot by the scummy spammers, virus purveyors, etc. They make the email look like it came from somewhere it didn't, so as to trick innocents from opening it.
The evil can come from a 'phish' email, making a victim think it came from the bank, credit card company or other financial institution.
The evil can come from a download that has a surprise package attached, the surprise could be a virus, trojan, worm, keylogger to steal an identity, or as a yet undiscovered way to torment the unsuspecting victim.
The evil can be in the form of an advertisement on a website. Just because an ad looks innocent enough and promises great things, bargains or other goodies, doesn't mean it is what is promised.
The evil can promise all sorts of good and entertaining information if the surfer will only 'sign up' to view the content. Sneaky way to collect email addresses for spammers!
Not all sites are bad, but there are enough of them out there to make a savvy surfer very wary!
