Search for what you want.

There is so much to do on a computer that is fun. Besides all the games for computers and there are hundreds if not thousands of them; there is the Internet. If you use common sense the Internet can be helpful, educational and just downright fun. If you can think of something, anything at all, there is more than likely at least one web site that has information available. There are sites with jokes, cartoons, and news, whatever you are seeking. All you have to do is locate a good search engine, type in a few keywords and go! You will find more than you can ever have the time to see everything!

My favorite search engine is Google.

There are a lot of search engines. If you are doing research, there may be a specialized search engine that will work better for you.

Screensavers and Desktop Wallpaper

I love screensavers. There are hundreds of them out there on the web. If you don't believe it, just bring up Google and type 'screensavers' in the search bar and see how many pages come up. However, a lot of the 'free' screensavers come with an extra download you don't want, spyware!

Here is a link to a site that has lots of screensavers, including Lord of the Rings, Spiderman & lots more. He calls his site 'Useless Creations'. Bet he has a lot of fun! (Please note, I have not checked the screensavers on this site for spyware.)

Webshots has great wallpaper for your Desktop and also a screensaver function. You can add your own photos to use in a screensaver. Webshots has both free and premium memberships. Another free wallpaper site that says 'No ads or spyware!

A site with a lot of other goodies including a lot of screensavers is Cloudeight. They advertise 'No spyware'!

Games

I really like to play games on my computer. I don’t play the Dungeons & Dragons type games, or the really graphic intensive games that require special graphic cards. I like the simple games. I like Mah-Jongg and can spend hours playing games like this. There are a lot of web sites that have free games for downloading or playing online. My favorite online game is Marbles.

Tip!

If you download & install a lot of screensavers and games, you need to organize them.
In Windows Explorer, create a new folder and name it 'Downloads'

As you download a new program, when the First download screen opens, click save. Then another screen opens asking where do you want to save. Select the drive and Download folder,
then make another new folder and name it something so you will know what it contains. Now you shouldn't have any problem locating your downloaded program.
