Time to rant again!
I belong to a lot of Yahoo Groups and I mostly 'lurk', trying to see the latest trends, etc. I do not want to start trouble or be a 'flamer'. But sometimes I see someone that thinks they are a tech and knows it all give very bad advice to a poor unsuspecting 'newbie'! I really don't know how to handle this in a diplomatic manner. So today I just had to respond to some bad information and I may have to run for cover later!
Guess this is like a blog (web log).
I just need to vent again, this time about Comcast.
Comcast wants to buy Disney. They would be better off to to fix their equipment and help their existing customers. I used to be a Comcast customer for high speed internet, but no more. When everyday at 6:30 PM my internet connection just quit, I complained.
"Oh, someone will check it out and they will probably be in touch with you."
No one ever got in touch with me, and over the Christmas holidays, it just quit. Period. No connection.
You can walk down any street around where I live and see broken cable access boxes, cable wires just laying around on the ground and connection plugs exposed to the weather (and anyone that wants to steal cable).
I now have SBC DSL and it doesn't quit. Just as fast as Comcast was (when it was working), and it doesn't cost as much.
When I moved in the fall of 2005 to to a brand new house in a new subdivision, I discovered SBC DSL is not available here yet and it may be a year or longer before it is available. So now I have Charter's broadband connection. So far Charter is working just fine!
Woo Hoo! I can now get DSL! Charter is ok, but I love my DSL!
