Good Sites for Information About Spyware
Update! When this page was first written, Ad-aware and Spybot would remove most spyware. They still remove a whole lot of the bad stuff. But spyware is getting harder to remove and sneakier about how it gets on to your computer.
I am now using the free version of Malwarebytes, SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition, and ESET Smart Security. I am also using sandboxed (Sandboxie*) Firefox which does not use ActiveX controls. I also use No-Script on Firefox, which keeps those tacky bad scripts from running! I am afraid it is only a matter of time before we will all have to implement new and stronger protection against spyware. Stay tuned!
